Phlog #1 – V&A Mall, Waterfront, Cape Town
Foggy morning, light drizzle
Cafe #1 – 7am breakfast, alone at the new 24h McCafe. Flat white and a lemon and poppy seed muffin.
Cafe #2 – Kauai, alone again.
Jaco met me for his brunch, and put the carrot strips to good use.
Some builders breakfasting outside the mall at around 10am.
Cafe #3 – a bookstore cafe. I sat outside. Bacon mozzarella and avocado toasted sandwich and a filter coffee. Through the gap between the pillar and the ship I could see seals playing in the harbour.
Back to the beginning and McCafe. Caramel frappe; comfy wide swivel-chairs; River God, by Wilber Smith who was born in Central Africa.
The Wheel of Excellence.
Security guards patrolling the Waterfront area.
The busy local fish and chip shop back at our home town, Gordon’s Bay.
Ending the day with chish and fips at the beach

Nice easy day. Are seals common there? It sounds so alien to me, usually if I’m by a river or sea, I only see an empty Tesco bag float past. You got some cracking shots there, look forward to seein more
Very nice. I like the photos and your choice of filters. Jaco is hilarious. Thank you for sharing this with us. – Vance
Mike – very common
There’s even an island just off the coast called Seal Island, hehe – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_Island,_South_Africa. There’s always a bunch floating around in the Cape Town waterfront area, they hang out on the jetties or just play about in the water.
Vance – glad you like
Good blog Del, I love the b&w one of the security guards. I’m glad Jaco is being as serious as ever
What a neat idea, Del. That b & w shot of the builders is stunning!
Security guards, I meant! Duh!
Thanks Helen! Didn’t feel like I could commit myself to a 365-blog so this is a bit of a compromise, hehe.
I like the way that photo came out too. I had wanted to get a shot of the tunnel with the light coming through but as I walked in from the other side the security guards had just stepped in from the other side, so I kept walking then shot them from the other side. I’m glad I did, I like them in the picture ^.^
Here is another math trick This will work only with 7 digit Phone No. 1. Grab a clauclator. (You wont be able to do this in your head)2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)3. Mutiply by 804. Add 15. Mutiply by 2506. Add the last four numbers of your phone number7. Add the last four numbers of your phone number again8. Subtract 2509. Divide number by 2 Do you recognize the answer? IS’NT IT YOUR PHONE NO:?
